150th year Anniversary of the Leeds Union Workhouse

Did you know the Thackray Museum building used to be the Leeds Union Workhouse? This year is the 150th Anniversary of the building being opened for relief of the poor people of Leeds.

Come and celebrate with us on the 28th March 2011 from 2pm where you can step behind the scenes for a workhouse tour or try your hand at workhouse chores. You also have the opportunity to visit our newly refurbished Conference Centre where complementary refreshments are available.
